Tuna Mushroom Pizza
Here’s two ways you can prepare tuna mushroom pizza.(seafood pizza)
Making the pizza dough
1 cup warm water(105-115F)
3 cups all-purpose flour(but bread flour will give u a crisp one)
3 tbsp olive oil or 2 tbsp butter
1 tsp sugar
1 tsp salt
1 tsp yeast
Add salt,sugar and yeast into warm water and keep it for about 10 minutes.
Mix flour and olive oil in a bowl.
Pour in the water mixture little by little with mixing making sure you dont make it too wet.
Knead the dough with your hand until the dough is smooth.
Coat the dough with olive oil and cover with kitchen wrap or you can use a grocery bag too.
Let the dough to rise for about 1 hour or 1 1/2 hour.
Punch it down to deflate, and leave for another hour.
Put the dough on a lightly floured surface and stretch from center to outwards making a round shape.
Spread a bit at a time, by spreading half and leave for about 10 minutes and spread the remaining until the dough is 1/2 inch in thickness.
Pinch the very edges with your finger tips forming a lip as in pies.
1)Preparing the pizza topping
1 can tuna 185g (if you like you can use fresh fish too)
1 onion (sliced thinly)
2 capsicum (sliced thinly)
1 tomato (sliced thinly)
3-4 mushrooms (sliced)
1/2 cup tomato sauce
1 cup cheddar cheese
1/2 tsp black pepper powder
1 tbsp tomato paste
1 green chilli (chopped)
1 tbsp olive oil
salt to taste
Heat the oil in a pan and add the sliced onions, chilli and capsicum.
Fry until golden brown.
Add in tomato paste and cook for a minute.
Add in the tuna, mushrooms and salt and cook for 2 minutes.
If you are using fresh fish you need to cook further for about 6 - 8 minutes until the fish is fully cooked.
If you are using canned tuna don’t add too much salt as most of the canned food contains salt.
Remove from heat and keep aside to cool.
Preparing the Pizza
Brush olive oil in the dough.
Spread tomato sauce on top of the dough.
Sprinkle the pepper powder.
Place the pizza toppings on the pizza.
place the sliced tomatoes on top of the toppings.
Finally sprinkle cheese on top.
Bake the pizza in an oven at 400-450F for about 15 minutes or until cheese is golden brown.
If you like to have more cheese sprinkle as desired at the end of the cooking time.
2)Preparing the pizza topping
1 can tuna 185g (or if you like fresh fish cut into small cubes and cook until fully cooked you can boil,steam or bake)
3-4 mushrooms (sliced)
1/2 cup tomato sauce
2 capsicum (sliced)
1 tomato (sliced)
1 1/2 cup cheddar cheese
1/2 tsp black pepper powder
Preparing the Pizza
Brush olive oil in the dough.
Spread tomato sauce on top of the dough.
Sprinkle the pepper powder.
Sprinkle half of the cheese.
place the tuna, tomatoes, capsicum and mushrooms each at a time forming a layer of each.
Finally sprinkle the remaining cheese on top.
Bake the pizza in an oven at 400-450F for about 15 minutes or until cheese is golden brown.
