Ingredients:

4 red mullet
1 onion
4 clove garlic
2 inch ginger
1 tsp cumin
1 tsp turmeric
2 tsp chili powder
salt to taste
oil for shallow frying

Scale the fish and make gashes on both sides of the fish.
Grind all the other ingredients to a smooth paste leaving the fish and oil aside.
Rub the fish with the paste and leave about 1 hour.
Heat the oil in a large frying pan.
Add the fish into the pan and fry on one side until sealed.
Turn onto other side gently and fry until both sides are golden brown.
Drain well on kitchen paper to remove excess oil.
Serve hot with lemon slices.
